“Research is creating new knowledge”- Neil Armstrong
“Academic success depends on research and publications”- Philip Zimbardo
Research is not just desirable, but also in a modern, competitive world it is a necessity for an institution like BIBF. That’s the thought behind establishing the BIBF Center for Research in 2009. We believe that research is an integral part of any institution in the field of training and education and hence for us it is a natural extension of our overall activities. At BIBF, research is a collective effort of involving our faculty, students, external research associates and other relevant stakeholders.
Since its inception in 2009, the primary mandate of the Center has been to inculcate and develop research culture amongst its faculty and students .The Center is currently involved in a number of activities which includes providing research support to BIBF faculty, developing and implementing research plans, policies, procedures and guidelines, developing research database and infrastructure, liaising and establishing research partnership with the main industry partners, government and private sector primarily in Bahrain and the GCC.
Our research is essentially applied research which is of interest to the banking, finance and business community of Bahrain and the region. We cover a wide range of topics predominantly within the financial framework including studies on banking, financial market and regulations, macro-economic trends, socio-economic framework, sector analysis, Islamic banking and finance, insurance and allied services, risk management, service quality and many more. In addition to a number of BIBF faculty who serve as internal researchers, our team includes external researchers and eminent scholars with relevant knowledge and expertise. The Center in the near future is also looking at developing research training and courses to impart research skills to the industry.
BIBF Centre for Research is committed to providing high quality, independent research that is of importance to the banking and business community of Bahrain and the region. In facilitating BIBF’s contribution to fostering research culture and developing relevant research capacity, we welcome your inputs and suggestions!
