Foundations in Accountancy – ( FIA )

Description

FIA is offered by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK,asa suite of awards that providesgrounding in accounting and finance.

The qualifications are suitable forthose already working in accounts support roles, without qualifications, to obtain formal recognition of their abilities, or for secondary school leavers.

Although there are no formal entry requirements, candidates should have appropriate mathematical and English-language ability to be successful in the examinations.

As FIA consists of a suite of awards you can select the qualification which is best matched to the expected job role and educational achievements of individuals. The qualifications are:

Introductory Certificate in Financial and Management Accounting is achieved by passing two exams and a completing an online professionalism and ethics module
Intermediate Certificate in Financial and Management Accounting is achieved by passing two exams and completing an online professionalism and ethics module
Diploma in Accounting and Business is achieved by passing three exams and completing an online professionalism and ethics module
Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) is achieved by passing all of the above exams, plus two further exams, completing the online professionalism and ethics module and one year's relevant practical experience
Certificate in Auditing is achieved by passing an individual exam plus completing the online professionalism and ethics module
Certificate in Taxation is achieved by passing an individual exam plus completing the online professionalism and ethics module
Certificate in Financial Management is achieved by passing an individual exam plus completing the online professionalism and ethics module.

The online professionalism and ethics module need only be completed once.

The CAT Qualification and the Diploma in Accounting and Business offer a route into the ACCA Qualification, providing the high potential holder with a clear career development path to professional accountancy.
