The BIBF receives a delegation from State Bank of Pakistan
The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) received a delegation from State Bank of Pakistan to discuss issues of mutual understanding and areas of cooperation at the BIBF Campus in Juffair.
The Pakistani Delegation led by the Islamic Finance Director, Mr. Mahmood Shafqat from State Bank of Pakistan, who was accompanied by delegates from Meezan Bank Pakistan and Bank Alfalah Ltd. Pakistan, met with BIBF’s Director, Dr. Ahmed Al Shaikh and Head of the Centre for Islamic Finance, Mr. Mujtaba Khalid.
The participants discussed the growth of the banking and finance fields and the latest issues and research studies in the Islamic Finance field. The representatives of State Bank of Pakistan expressed their interest in the e-learning platform, which BIBF is developing in-house with AAOIFI, as well as the Islamic Finance Simulation Training, which is the first of its kind globally. Furthermore, the delegation expressed interest in cooperating with the BIBF and to learn more about its’ programmes and what it offers to companies and individuals, as the leading institute in Islamic Banking and Financial Studies in the region.
The BIBF’s Director, Dr. Ahmed AbdulHameed Al Shaikh welcomed the delegation and stated: “The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) welcomes all aspects of cooperation with the various banks and financial institutions, we are delighted to share our knowledge and experience with the State Bank of Pakistan. Our main objective is to prepare human capital with the required skills to prepare them for the continuous progress of this vital sector.”
