The BIBF announces online admissions for 2020-2021
The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) announced the opening of online admissions for the academic year 2020-2021, starting Sunday, 19th April 2020.
The BIBF Director, Dr. Ahmed Al Shaikh, clarified that the process of submitting applications for the academic year will be fully online until further notice, and will be through filling out the application form available on the BIBF website (www.bibf.com/academics), in line with the national efforts to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and ensure the health and safety of students.
In light of the Kingdom’s measures in combating this pandemic, Dr. Al Shaikh also announced the cancellation of registration fees for university programmes to support students and ensure continuity of the educational process during the suspension period.
As the world goes through this period of uncertainty, the BIBF offers an opportunity for Grade 12 students who wish to complete their studies in the Kingdom or abroad, specifically for the United Kingdom, the International Foundation Programme allows them to continue their studies abroad.
The Kingdom has long been providing international educational programmes, at the highest of levels, and is able to embrace all its students, and provide them with the best learning and training opportunities.
In addition, for students returning from studying abroad who wish to complete their academic journey locally, they can transfer their credits and continue their degrees at the BIBF and still get an international degree.
Through its partnerships with leading universities in the UK, the BIBF offers a range of undergraduate programmes aimed at students considering careers in Banking, Finance, Management, Economics and other related fields.
The BIBF offers a Bachelor’s Programme from Bangor University (Wales), which allows students to specialise in one of three majors:
- Banking and Finance
- Accounting and Finance
- Islamic Finance
The programmes aim to combine high level theoretical understanding with the practical skills required for a successful career in the modern business/financial world.
The BIBF also offers the prestigious University of London Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Management, with academic direction by the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), one of the constituent Colleges of the University. This means that academics from LSE design the syllabus and learning materials and are responsible for setting and marking all examinations. LSE has a global reputation as one of the foremost specialist social science universities in the world. The BIBF offers the University of London programme in:
- Economics and Management
Dr. Ahmed Al Shaikh also stated, “All undergraduate programmes offered at the BIBF are fully recognised by the Higher Education Council of Bahrain, and lead to qualifications made by highly-ranked British universities. In this way, students can obtain an internationally-recognised British degree whilst studying locally in Bahrain.”
He also added, “The BIBF has introduced these university programmes 20 years ago, taking great pride in our graduates that occupy leadership positions in the labour market today, and we are pleased to offer exceptional academic programmes in Bahrain in collaboration with world-class universities.
Dr. Al Shaikh noted that the registration is ongoing until July 1st, 2020 and advised students to follow the BIBF social media channels for latest updates and to visit the website for more information about registration for the next semester.
