The BIBF offers the International Foundation Programme, which allows participants to enter directly into an undergraduate degree of their choice anywhere in the United Kingdom. The International Foundation Programme is recognised by the UK National Information Centre for the recognition and evaluation of international qualifications and skills (UK ENIC). as of a comparable level to the General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level and the Scottish Advanced Higher Standard.

The BIBF International Foundation Programme has been designed to prepare students for degree level study in UK universities. Before a student who has completed high school in Bahrain and other GCC states can enter a UK university degree course, they must take and pass an approved foundation course, which is equivalent to UK A-Levels or the International Baccalaureate Diploma. Unlike many other UK foundation programmes, which give admission to only one university, The BIBF programme has been formally benchmarked by UK NARIC – the body responsible for determining the comparability of qualifications in the UK – as of a comparable level to UK A’ Levels, the IB Diploma and similar foundation programmes offered by UK Universities.
