The BIBF and Oman’s CBFS renew Collaborative Agreement
The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) recently renewed an agreement with the Oman based College of Banking and Financial Studies (CBFS) to further provide specialised Islamic Finance education in Bahrain, Oman and the GCC in general.
The agreement between BIBF and the CBFS to incorporate Islamic Banking training courses in Oman was initially signed in 2012. The institutions’ close collaborations for the past 5 years were a primary driver for the renewal of the agreement especially in applied research to further develop the Islamic finance industry,. As part of the new agreement, the BIBF and CBFS will provide more training platforms in both Oman and Bahrain.
Commenting on the announcement, Dr Ahmed Abdulhameed Al-Shaikh, Deputy Director of the BIBF said: “The BIBF continuously works with reputable local, international and global partners to provide professional training that matches business needs and requirements. As part of this, it is critical to maintain close partnerships with institutions such as CBFS to further strengthen our position as a global content provider of choice for Islamic Finance training & education.”
Dr Ahmed Mohsin Al Ghassani, Dean of the CBFS stated: “Our mission is to continuously meet the evolving needs of Banking and Finance in the region. This can only be best achieved by maintaining and solidifying our relationships with our strategic partners. As part of this, our agreement with the BIBF will help us offer more training courses and opportunities to allow individuals to acquire globally reputed certifications with the goal of increasing local capacity in all key aspects of banking.”
