BIBF concludes its series of Sukuk Structuring Masterclasses for Lawyers in Dubai

The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) concluded its series of masterclasses for the year 2018, on Sukuk Structuring and Issuing to lawyers in Dubai.

Conducted by BIBF’s Centre for Islamic Finance, the sessions aimed at raising awareness about the legal framework.

The Sukuk structuring masterclasses provided coverage of key aspects of Sukuk structuring and related issues, with special reference to AAOIFI related standards.

This interactive and practical programme was designed as a mandatory course for the lawyers by the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department. It enabled participants to distinguish between conventional and Islamic capital market products, helped them familiarise with the underlying Islamic finance principles, understand the rationale behind Sharia-compliant Sukuk, and realise the Sukuk structuring process including AAOIFI guidelines and the basis of their rulings.

The sessions were delivered by Dr. Ahmed Asad, BIBF’s Principal Lecturer at the Islamic Finance Centre, and covered several topics, such as, Hybrid Sukuk, Sukuk Issuance, Certificates, and other Islamic finance structure.

As a professional world-class provider of education and training solutions to the financial sector in the region, the BIBF continues to provide training opportunities in more than 63 countries to reach greater strides and become the global institute of choice.
