The BIBF successfully concludes a full day of virtual workshops for start-ups and entrepreneurs

With more than 900 registered participants across various business sectors, the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) successfully concluded a full day of virtual workshops for start-ups and entrepreneurs, as part of the Manama Entrepreneurship Week (MEW), organised by the Capital Governorate for the period 18 – 22 October.
The event provided a series of specialised workshops free of charge across four different tracks, namely: Digital Transformation, Cloud for Decision Makers, Exploring the Real Estate Market and Entrepreneurial Skills.
The first track discussed all about Digital Transformation and Financial Technology (FinTech), delivered by BIBF’s Senior Lecturer Mr. Yousif Faraj. The track also included a coding session for entrepreneurs with Python, delivered by BIBF’s Lecturer Mr. Nishanth Kumar, whereas CEO of INFINITEWARE Mr. Ameen Al Tajer explained how they can use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to boost their business.
Also, participants understood in the second track led by Mr. Nishanth the benefits of cloud computing and how a cloud strategy can help them meet their business objectives.
Furthermore, the third track explored the Real Estate sector, starting with a session on the impact of COVID-19 on the Real Estate market in Bahrain and globally delivered by the Associate Director and Head of Professional Services at Savills Mr. Hashim Kadhem. The session was followed by valuable insights from the Director of Policies and Strategic Planning Directorate of the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) Mr. Abdulla Al Koheeji on the importance of regulations in Bahrain and how it promotes economic growth. Lastly, Real Estate Expert and Advisor Mr. Ehsan Musayeb explained the fundamentals of real estate and provided the participants with an overview of the real estate investment.
Finally, the fourth track equipped participants with essential entrepreneurial skills, such as how to project manage your business, walk the talk, and become your own boss, delivered by BIBF’s lecturers, Mr. Yousif Faraj, Ms. Manal Al Khan, and Ms. Asma Al Madani, respectively.
His Excellency Sheikh Hisham bin Abdul Rahman Al Khalifa, Capital Governor, said in a statement on this occasion that organising this programme in collaboration with the BIBF comes thanks to the joint interest of both parties in supporting, connecting and inspiring entrepreneurs and youth interested in innovation and leadership, especially in light of the current challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
His Excellency also praised the continuous and constructive cooperation with the BIBF in organising events and training programmes aimed at developing youth capabilities.
On his part, The BIBF Director, Dr. Ahmed Al Shaikh, stated: “This initiative is part of the importance of inspiring young entrepreneurs to navigate their path towards business ownership armed with the right knowledge and skills despite the current challenges.”
Dr. Al Shaikh also hailed the efforts of His Excellency the Governor in adopting such initiatives to enhance the entrepreneurial spirit and inspire innovation across all business sectors.
