The BIBF Launches a Simulation Course for the Insurance Industry
The BIBF’s centre of Insurance continues its dedication to the advancement of the Insurance industry in the Middle East by introducing a first of its kind simulation course for the insurance industry. The 3-day course ‘Strategic Management of the Insurance Business’ will be delivered in collaboration with (Oxyor) an international learning partner; a global leader of financial simulations that develops and delivers simulations as well as learning solutions used in professional education throughout the global financial sector. The course is set to take place from the 7th to the 9th of May 2017 at the BIBF premises.
The course is designed for middle and senior level participants working in the insurance industry who want to get practical insights on how to manage an insurance company through different economic cycles by understanding the developments in the financial markets on the insurers’ balance sheet.
Insurance companies tend to be long-term investors where it takes at least 6 months to a year or even longer before the consequences of the decisions can be evaluated on the company’s balance sheet. This course will provide the opportunity to see how strategic and tactical management choices will have an impact on the financial situation of ‘their’ company almost instantly.
Manal Mashkoor, Head of the Centre of Insurance at the BIBF said, “This course is the first of its kind in the region and has been designed for employees within the insurance industry, specifically those in managerial positions. BIBF prides itself on being able to offer the market with cutting-edge, innovative training and development solutions, and simulation training, using live market information that allows participants to make strategic decisions based on that information, is a testament to our commitment to unique professional development. We have partnered, as is distinctive of BIBF, with a world leader in simulation training, and are excited to present the industry with the opportunity to attend this exceptional programme”.
The course will be delivered by Mr. Robet Van Loon who has a vast experience in the global financial markets in areas like Financial Markets, Derivatives, Asset & Liability Management (ALM), Asset Management, Currencies, Interest Rates and Risk Management. The course will be in English and is funded by Tamkeen for Bahrain’s.
