The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF), a leading training and development provider in the region, announced it is an Official Training Partner of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), the largest and most comprehensive global information privacy community and resource, to offer key privacy training courses to professionals in Bahrain.
“There is an increasing demand for trained privacy professionals across the globe, and with this new partnership, we are able to offer gold-standard training and certification around the world to meet those demands,” said J. Trevor Hughes, IAPP President and CEO. He also added, “With the BIBF now offering data privacy training in the Kingdom of Bahrain, we’re expanding the reach of our programmes to deliver top-tier trainings and credentials across legal, tech, policy sectors and more.”
The IAPP developed and launched the only globally recognised credentialing programmes in information privacy, including the Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), the Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT), and the Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), which will start in February 2023. These certifications are leading privacy qualifications for thousands of professionals around the world who serve the data protection, information auditing, information security, legal compliance and/or risk management needs of their organisations.
Director of the BIBF, Dr. Ahmed Al Shaikh said, “In line with the Kingdom’s direction to enable data protection and privacy, the BIBF is committed towards training and upskilling privacy professionals in Bahrain. As the Bahrain Data Protection Law (BDPL) comes into effect, we are pleased to support individuals, professionals, and organisations across all industries by transferring premium privacy practices and knowledge from IAPP training courses to help ensure compliance with international leading practices and help advance the privacy profession in Bahrain.”
Head of Digital Transformation & Project Management Centre at the BIBF, Ms. Maryam Majed stated, “We believe in the need for a holistic approach to tackling Privacy – one that addresses people, processes, and technologies. Becoming an Official Training Partner of IAPP, we’re well-equipped to offer value-driven training around Privacy Management and excited about the road ahead.”
The cost of each training includes an IAPP membership offering access to an expansive professional community, plus a wealth of privacy information and resources, including exclusive content and tools, expert analysis, legislative alerts, and original reporting.
