The BIBF awards the graduates of its International Undergraduate Programmes with Bangor University
Under the patronage of the Central Bank of Bahrain, Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) recently celebrated the graduation of its International Diploma and Undergraduate Programmes offered in collaboration with Bangor University, UK, which was held at ART Rotana Hotel in Amwaj Islands.
The BIBF’s Director Solveig Nicklos addressed the graduates and encouraged them to approach the next phase of their lives with the utmost professionalism, and to apply the unique set of theoretical and applied skills gained in their experience as undergraduates, to their professional careers. In addition, she emphasized the continued efforts to advance the quality of the BIBF’s offerings through strategic partnerships with the most prestigious educational and professional institutions worldwide. She also stressed the importance of the quality and role of higher education in meeting the development needs of the business sector and its contribution towards supporting economic prosperity.
She continued by thanking Ahli United Bank, the Arab Bank, the Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait, AlBaraka Banking Group, HSBC Bank, and the National Bank of Bahrain, who provided awards for academic excellence for the following students: Noor Hani Al Tajer, ReemYaser Al Mandeel, Fatima Hasan Haider, Abdulla Adan Al Marshad, Noora Ahmed Albinali, and Ahmed Hesham Bucheeri.
The BIBF’s Deputy Director Dr. Ahmed Abdulhameed Abdulghani Al Shaikh praised the graduates on their performance and indicated that the graduation ceremony was a confirmation of the BIBF’s commitment to fulfil business needs across all sectors. He also noted the focus on Bahrain’s economic development goals, through the provision of highly qualified local human capital, as a key national effort and praised the BIBF’s commitment and contribution as a training provider of quality international programmes, towards achieving these goals, particularly in the banking and financial sector.
Professor John Hughes, President and Vice-Chancellor of Bangor University, gave a speech at the ceremony, marking his pride in the decade-long relationship between the University and the BIBF.
He stated, “Bangor University has had remarkable relationship with the BIBF since the launch of the Banking & Finance programmes in 2004. The first cohort of students came to Bangor University to complete their degree studies in 2006 and since then over 450 have completed their honours degrees at our University. The BIBF students have performed exceptionally well obtaining high degree classifications every year with a substantial number of first-class awards, including the top students in the Business School.”
Moreover, Ahmed Hesham Bucheeri delivered a speech on behalf of his fellow graduates and expressed his pride and happiness at the outcome of the group’s academic achievement. He added that they were able to achieve such excellent outcome due to the development of individual personalities with the overall experience of studying at the BIBF and Bangor University.
His Excellency the Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain, Mr. Rasheed Mohammed AlMaraj, presented the students with diploma certificates whileProfessor John Hughes presented the Bachelor certificates in the presence of representatives from the Central Bank of Bahrain, Bangor University, as well as graduating students and their parents.
