Infracorp Sustainability Graduate Development Programme

Overview

A comprehensive Graduate Development Programme which integrates practical and class-room training led by practitioners, followed by a hackathon, and a 3 months on the job opportunity.

Target Audience

Fresh graduates with top honours, from local or International universities.

Objective

  • Contribute to the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 by preparing a young talent pool who understand Sustainability and its application in different sectors
  • Develop a young talent pool who is able to contribute to GFH Financial Group’s sustainability projects and initiatives
  • Building future advocates for sustainability across sectors
  • Giving back by developing a ready and responsible workforce who will meet the region’s market need

Programme Structure

Track 1: BUILD

Introductory level courses to introduce candidates to different key sustainability topics and Build their knowledge in this area

  1. 1. Assessment & Screening (online)
    • The BIBF will provide you with assessment as part of the programme where we will meet with candidates, shortlist a pool of 25 participants to be assessed and screened; and up to 25 to be onboarded to the programme.
  1. 2. Teamwork & Collaboration (1 day)
    • This session will help you identify the desirable characteristics of a team player, benefits of effective teamwork and collaboration, and understand the different types of teams and team roles.
  1. 3. Sustainable Development Mindset (1 day)
    • This course will explore the fundamentals of sustainability and the concepts associated with it such as ESG and SDGs. It will also explore the benefits and urgency of shifting the corporate mindset and culture to “do well while doing good” and fully internalising the commitment to re-engineer “how” business is conducted.
  1. 4. Sustainability Framework (1 day)
    • This session covers the framework of sustainable reporting, alignment, principles and discusses the local and global sustainability regulations and bodies.
Track 2: DEVELOP

Courses that aim to Develop candidates’ knowledge and provide them with the practical knowledge and concepts

  1. 5. Sustainability Applications – Banking (1 day)
    • This course examines the role of financial institutions in facilitating sustainable, commercial activity. You will assess various case studies of banks that have adopted sustainability measures.
  1. 6. Presentation and Communication Skills (1 day)
    • This course will provide you with the opportunity to develop and practice skills as a confident and creative presenter and communicator. This course offers practical, easy to use techniques to help cope with nerves, structure and deliver material with maximum impact and speak effectively to audiences of varied sizes.
Track 3: GROW

Practical courses to Grow the participants skills and enable them to learn different tools and techniques

  1. 7. Net Zero & Circular Economy (1 day)
    • This course introduces the principles of transition to net zero against the backdrop of the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) as set out in the Paris Agreement. It will consider the types of commitments that banks are making and the challenges in achieving them. The course will further consider the actions that banks’ clients can take to improve their sustainability footprint with respect to resource consumption and natural capital, and how banks can support them.
  1. 8. Technological Changes & Sustainability (1 day)
    • The course aims to present the role of the information technology sector (ICT) in sustainable development and the methods in which “big data” is employed to improve the lives of millions and critical challenges that technology may face. This course examines the process in which stakeholders tackle issues that may arise in a hyper-digitised world.
  1. 9. Sustainable Solutions for Organizations (1 day)
    • This course provides you with an overview of how organisations can adapt sustainable solutions for their operations, workflow, and culture. It will provide global best practices.
Track 4: APPLY & REWARD

Ensure Knowledge transfer through practical experience by attending a presentation and on-the-job training

  1. 10. Hackathon
    • Participants will set up teams consisting of at least 3 members
    • Each team will present on the day of the Hackathon a “Sustainable Solution” that addresses at least 3 SDGs
    • There will be a Jury to assess your presentations
    • The Jury will consist of (1) BIBF member (1) GFH member (1) Independent Expert
    • The Teams will work on a solution – ideally financial-sector focused and/or climate-risk related
    • The solution to be “pitched” in the form of a presentation
    • Top 10 participants will be announced to join the On-The-Job-Training opportunity.
  1. 11. On-the-Job Training (3 months) for top 10 performers
    • The top 10 participants will receive a 3-month internship opportunity in GFH Financial Group subsidiary companies.
