BIBF’s new iconic headquarters in Bahrain Bay marks a significant progress of 65% completion

Sunday, October 4, 2020

The Director of the Bahrain Institute for Banking and Finance (BIBF), Dr. Ahmed Al Shaikh, confirmed that the new iconic headquarters project in Bahrain Bay had achieved significant progress with 65% of construction completion.

He mentioned that this national project comes in line with the BIBF’s expansion plan in and outside Bahrain to further accommodate the growing demand and improve the learning experience, and represents an important milestone in the development of Bahrain’s financial services sector and the national economy, hence receives constant attention and follow-up by the Board of Directors.

“The state-of-the-art ten story building will contribute to Bahrain’s skyline as an iconic symbol of modern architecture, providing safe and convenient facilities to support the learning process and improve the educational tourism in Bahrain.” He added.

Dr. Ahmed Al Shaikh also praised the great efforts made by the in-charge team in order to complete the project at its scheduled time, to serve the training and development needs of the Kingdom’s national workforce and close the skills gap.

The BIBF’s Senior Manager of Information Technology and Operations, Mr. Shaker AlOwainati, said that preparations are underway for the next phase of the project to establish the new iconic building in Bahrain Bay, which will commence with the installation of the required infrastructure, including the roads and electricity. He also mentioned that devices and equipment are being installed, leading to the completion of the interior designs and furniture installation, so that they coincide with the project completion by the end of the first quarter of next year 2021.

It is worth mentioning that the BIBF’s new landmark was commenced earlier last year with a budget of 12 Million Bahraini Dinars and a total structural area of 25,000 square meters that stands as a luxury waterfront development; providing the latest technologies, cutting-edge facilities and digital innovation to ensure the highest standards of efficiency, and a unique learning experience.
