BIBF welcomes new cohort of the FinTech Master’s programme

The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) welcomed the new cohort of the FinTech Master’s programme – awarded by its long-standing partner Strathclyde Business School – in an online induction attended by a number of Strathclyde academic officials namely, Prof. Dave MacKay – MBA Academic Director, Dr. Marisa Smith – Operations Director and Dr. Kevin Page – Programme Director, along with Dr. Raja Bucheery – Head of Academics Centre, Mr. Ahmed Naeemi – Head of Digital Transformation, and other officials.
Students representing senior executives in the public and private sector were introduced to the programme objectives and learning outcomes as part of their future experience on the programme.
On this occasion, Dr. Raja Bucheeri stated, “Bahrain is today considered the regional Fintech hub and the right environment for aspiring graduates to observe the impact of Financial Technology within the larger subsections of industry. The MSc Fintech is highly experiential learning that incorporates the future of digital technologies, regulatory policies making them highly marketable for the future sustainable goals.”
She also added: “As the training arm for the financial sector in Bahrain, we are well-placed to equip the local workforce with the broad set of skills and knowledge required in this fast-growing sector and allow them to take advantage of the opportunities arising from Fintech. We wish the students all the best as they embark on this new journey.”
On his part, Prof. David Hillier said, “Graduates will be highly employable and have the relevant skillsets for future careers in capital markets. We’re confident that we will enable students to fast-track into a successful career in the finance sector.”
