In line with the Kingdom’s efforts to develop the local workforce, the Bahrain Institute of Banking & Finance (BIBF) launched a training programme to upgrade the employability skills and capabilities of fresh graduates and job seekers and prepare them for the highly competitive job market, with the aim of improving their chances of securing a decent job in light of the pandemic.
This virtual programme comes as part of a series of training courses approved by City & Guilds, a global leader in skills development, and supported by the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), to provide participants with the transferable skills to start their career and become ’employable’, such as, Effective Communication, Job Interview, Teamwork, Problem-solving, Self-Development, Self-Confidence, and Career Planning, in addition to other important skills that are shaping the labour market of today.
The BIBF Director Dr. Ahmed Al-Shaikh, stated, “In a highly competitive jobs market, young people need to prove they have the right skills to succeed. This programme is designed to improve young Bahrainis’ employability skills and bridge the gap between education and the future workforce.”
He also mentioned that this initiative stems from our strong belief that developing human capital is the best investment you can make, as a main driver for Bahrain’s economic growth, strengthening its position as a regional Centre for training and development.
On his part, BIBF Head of Leadership and Management Centre, Mr. Yousif Ali stated, “Preparing the youth of the Kingdom for the challenges and opportunities of the workplace has been at the forefront of BIBF’s efforts as we have seen numerous collaborations with several entities with both the private as well as the public sector for the past few years.”
“This programme is built on a solid foundation of clear understanding of the needs of both future employers as well as the young people who will join this programme. It will provide a blended approach to learning and will be delivered by a team of highly capable and experienced team of trainers who each have a long track record of successful youth-targeted ventures.” He added.
