BIBF Launches Corporate Governance Programme for Board Executives
BIBF recently announced the launch of a unique, two-day masterclass on Corporate Governance with a special focus on Strategy and Risk Management to benefit Board of Directors and Senior Management in the financial services sector.
The programme is designed based on the Central Bank of Bahrain’s (CBB) recommendations on upskilling newly inducted Board members and updating current Board members on Strategy, Risk management and Governance (module HC-4 of the CBB Rulebook).
“This programme will greatly benefit executive management in “controlled functions” to support their individual competencies and remain competent in their roles, fulfilling part of their annual training needs”, said BIBF’s Head of Banking, Deen Jayah.
“The fulfilment of the requirement will be reviewed during the CBB’s supervisory visits to ensure that executive management staff are competent and remain competent for their roles. (module TC – 2.2 of the CBB Rulebook).”
The masterclass is scheduled to take place on the 24th and 25th of April, and will be led by Mr. Seamus Gillen – a leading board advisor. By attending this programme, delegates will be able to develop their thinking around the strategy and risk management models in current business use, consider the practical implications for their institution, and identify required improvements, which they can implement to increase the prospect of business success.
