BIBF hosts an awareness session on Web3.0, the Metaverse, and NFTs

The Bahrain Institute for Banking and Finance (BIBF) held an awareness session on Web 3.0, NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens), how they work, and the opportunities available to individuals and companies in the Metaverse space, in the context of enhancing knowledge of future digital trends, and their impact on businesses
The session was delivered by the BIBF’s Head of Digital Transformation and Project Management Centre Mr. Ahmed Naeemi, and Chapter Director of Startup Grind Manama Ms. Pakiza Abdulrahman, Lecturer at the BIBF’s Digital Transformation and Project Management Centre, Mr. Nishanth Pathi, and DAMG Partners Mr. Ali Mohsen and Mr. Hussain Haji.
Ms. Pakiza opened up with a speech on the history of Startup Grind, Manama, followed by Mr. Ahmed who shed light on the future for these upcoming digital trends and shared his knowledge and insight on them. He also discussed on what the future of these trends look like and how they will be incorporated onto the BIBF in the upcoming future. This in which includes developing courses in line with digital trends such as cryptocurrencies, fintech, blockchain, etc.
Mr. Nishanth provided an insightful presentation on the future of digital trends and shared the current state of the metaverse today, explaining that the user will be able to create his own avatar and enter the virtual world through this advanced technology. He also noted that there are many global big companies working on implementing their own metaverse to take advantage of its services, such as JPMorgan, Disney, and McDonalds.
The session concluded with a presentation by Mr. Hussain Haji and Ali Mohsen, where they introduced the NFT as a digital proof of something you own, and the future of business through this technology, highlighting that the future of the metaverse will incorporate digitalised ownership of many things ranging from music, to artwork, to even sending your own resume and CV as an NFT.
