As part of its commitment to strengthening the Kingdom’s position as a global Centre for the Islamic finance, the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) held a virtual training course on judicial and arbitral precedents in Islamic finance.
The course was delivered by Dr. Abdul Sattar Khouildi, a renowned Islamic finance specialist, international arbitrator, and legal expert, and led by BIBF’s Principal Lecturer at the Islamic Finance Centre Dr. Ahmad Asad.
The session was attended by a group of legal scholars and lawyers from various Islamic financial institutions. This training course is considered the second of its kind organised by the BIBF under the same topic, due to the success of the training that was held in December 2019, in cooperation with the Judicial and Legal Studies Institute at the Kingdom’s Ministry of Justice.
The training addressed several topics, such as, a General Introduction to Sharia Standards as a contemporary legalisation of the jurisprudence of financial transactions and part of the legal system in the Kingdom of Bahrain; the Judicial and Arbitration Rulings issued in the field of Murabahah, Speculation; Leasing ending with Ownership; Agency with Investment and Tawarruq, in addition to other provisions in the various fields of Islamic banking.
