Under the Patronage of His Excellency Eng. Basim Bin Yaqoob Al Hamar, Minister of Housing and Chairman of Eskan Bank, the Bahrain Institute of Banking & Finance (BIBF) and Eskan Bank announced organising a Forum on 14th November 2021, in a signing ceremony, held in the presence of H.E. Mr. Rasheed Al Maraj, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain and Chairman of the BIBF, and H.E. Basim Al Hamar, Minister of Housing and Chairman of Eskan Bank.
Under the theme ‘Leading a Sustainable Economy, the Forum will be hosted at the BIBF new Headquarters in Bahrain Bay, to exchange ideas and experiences on strategies to achieve a sustainable economy in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The one-day Forum will shed light on sustainability within the economy nowadays and gain a holistic understanding of sustainability that is paving the way towards a more sustainable future.
Business professionals from various sectors and specialisations will engage and learn from keynote speakers, expert panelists, and specialised training tracks delivered by market practitioners both locally and internationally, through an interactive and stimulating learning experience.
On this occasion, General Manager of Eskan Bank Dr. Khalid Abdulla, expressed his gratitude to cooperate with the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance on hosting such a distinguished Forum in the field of sustainable economy, in order to gain experience and exchange ideas and opinions related to this field with business professionals, as sustainability is a shared responsibility for the benefit of Bahrain’s economy.
On his part, Director of the BIBF, Dr. Ahmed Al Shaikh said, “As a thought leader in the industry, we continue to align ourselves with the global trends that will shape a sustainable economy in the Kingdom, hence established the Sustainable Development Academy lately in May.” He also added, “We are proud to collaborate with Eskan Bank on this key initiative, given its distinguishable efforts towards implementing the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).”
Head of Banking and Finance Centre at the BIBF, Ms. Zeeba Askar stated, “Aligning companies strategic directions towards long-term sustainable development which is stakeholder-centric is essential for the harmonious economic, social and environmental development of all nations.”
