Dr. Mahmoud AlBurai is a prominent figure in urban development and sustainability. He currently serves as the President of FIABCI Emirates and is a senior advisor in the Dubai Government, tasked with making Dubai more competitive. He also works as a senior advisor at Dubai Police and leads the Middle East Cities Centre at the American University in Dubai, focusing on sustainability and competitiveness research. He is the Chairman of UNDRR ARISE network in the UAE and the Director of the Middle East Cities Center at the American University in Dubai.

Dr. Mahmoud has a strong background in real estate, having served as the CEO of the Dubai Real Estate Institute, where he graduated 80,000 real estate professionals from the region. He is also involved in international real estate organizations, serving as the Vice President of FIABCI Arabic Countries and sitting on the board of the International Real Estate Federation. Additionally, He has been active in promoting the UN Global Compact and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through various initiatives and programs. He has also established his NGO and think tank to further promote sustainability and SDGs in the Middle East.
