SPEAKER PROFILE

Dr. Salman Alaraibi is a medical doctor with several years of Clinical/Surgical experience and a master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, University of Bern, Switzerland.

He Worked as a researcher at The Institute for Surgical Technology and Biomechanics and ARTORG Centre for Biomedical Engineering, Bern, Switzerland. He as well cofounded Archetype Foundry, a Bahrain-based research, design and development studio, aims to establish a human centered design approach through an open collaborative platform that harnesses local, regional and international talents. Products range from Medical, Manufacturing to Fashion and LifeStyle industries.

Client base are local, regional and global, in private, government and international non-governmental organizations. As well, Dr.Alaraibi co­founded Bahrain's first Fab Lab as part of MIT's global initiative for field on-site technology development, the Fab Lab program.  The Fab Lab establishing a platform for commons-based peer production. Fab Lab Bahrain is a community-driven initiative that has been active since 2014 in promoting collaborative and creative making.

He is a qualified instructor for Fab Academy; ­a global program in digital fabrication, Think leader ,and a founding member in Aramco’s ( Saudi Arabian Oil Company) innovation ecosystem society.In addition, Dr. Salman Alaraibi is a medical science lecturer, external supervisor for student's senior projects at the University of Bahrain and Bahrain Polytechnic University, and Lead Research and Development projects for ADIDAS, ROCHE, ARCWH/UNISCO, BFG, Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities and The Ministry of Youth and Sports.
