Purpose
Today’s rapidly changing global business environment
requires a workforce that is skilled and responsive
to marketplace demands and customer needs.
The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF)
offers a wide range of banking, finance, insurance,
management, marketing and information technology
courses to assist participants in their professional
development. Course curriculum is designed to meet
a broad spectrum of training needs from entry level
through intermediate and advanced professional levels
for more experienced, senior managers. The selection
of courses is based upon both current and strategic
market developments and the business objectives
and staffing requirements of financial services
organizations and insurance companies in Bahrain,
and other non financial sectors of the economy,
as determined by surveys, focus group sessions with
CEOs, senior managers, human resource managers and
other appropriate markets with both training and
line managers.
Your Organization
Customized, company specific programs can be arranged
as special offerings in any of the disciplines offered
by the Institute. These courses can be held during
mornings, afternoons, evenings or on weekends, in
order to accommodate the operational constraints
of the organization. Fees for such programs are
based on design, development and length of delivery
times.
Evening
Courses
A variety of evening courses are available at the
BIBF, many leading to internationally recognized
qualifications. Full details of these are available
in separate brochures. To receive further information
on these courses, please complete the Request for
Information Form at the back of the catalogue or
through BIBF home page www.bibf.com.
Instructional
Staff
The BIBF instructional staff are a select team of
former senior industry professionals with market
experience and relevant qualifications. Each is
particularly suited to his/her area of expertise.
External instructors and guest speakers from the
local economic community and noted experts from
abroad are drawn upon to augment the BIBF staff.
Application
of Learning
Training will be of little practical value unless
the knowledge and positive attitudes acquired in
the classroom are put into practice in the work
environment. To achieve this end, we ask management
to select the appropriate staff members to attend
programs at the Institute and to provide opportunities
for them to apply their new attitude, knowledge
and skills in the workplace.
Participant Requirements
Many of the programs are designed on a modular basis
to enable participants to undertake either a single
course or an appropriate series of courses. The
language of instruction is usually in English. Sponsors
should give proper consideration to the participants’
linguistic ability prior to nomination. The BIBF
Banking Studies Diploma has introduced a structured
Business English Certificate using the University
of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate, English
For Business courses as its basis. The minimum entry
requirement to commence the Intermediate Diploma
is BEC Level 2. The Institute has a special BEC
English Program offered as an evening course for
participants who need to attain such qualification
to meet our minimum requirements.
Recommended Study
Tracks
Attention should also be given to the level of each
course in relation to the individual’s existing
competencies and career objectives. Introductory
modules are geared to the new entrant. Participants
with experience may enrol at a more advanced level.
Reference to the course descriptions will provide
an indication of any necessary prerequisites or
experience to individual courses. Sequence charts
are provided in the appropriate sections of the
catalogue to assist in assessing the suitability
of nominees for a particular program.
