CII Launch
20th November 2006
The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF), one of Bahrain’s and the region’s leading professional training Institutes, is celebrating the launch of a new academy. The ‘CII Academy’ will be officially inaugurated at the Ritz Carlton on Monday 20th November 2006 under the patronage of His Excellency Rasheed Al Maraj, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain. Guest of honour will be Mr. Lee Gladwell, Sales and Marketing Director of the CII in London. The new Academy, created in partnership with the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) of the UK, will be the exclusive training provider for CII courses in the Middle East. It will also house the first online examination center for the CII outside the UK.
The CII is the largest and most influential insurance training and educational body worldwide. It currently has over 90,000 members and provides a suite of insurance and financial planning qualifications.
The Insurance Learning Center at the BIBF provides technical insurance training and examinable courses in both English and Arabic, on a face-to-face basis and by distance learning. The main objective of the center is to satisfy the training requirements of the levy-paying financial institutions in Bahrain. However, our strong reputation and brand have given us the opportunity to provide our courses in almost all of the GCC states and beyond. All of our courses enjoy international recognition through accreditation by the Chartered Insurance Institute towards part of the CII qualifications.
Commenting on the exclusive arrangement with the CII, BIBF Director, Khalil Nooruddin stated ‘It is very heartening to see the result of more than 2 years’ efforts come to fruition. We are excited to forge this strategic relationship with the CII to better serve the insurance industry in Bahrain and enhance the kingdom’s position as a hub for financial services training. We are particularly delighted that the new academy is the exclusive training provider for CII courses in the Middle East.’
