BIBF Celebrates its 23rd Annual Graduation Ceremony 2009

Manama-Bahrain, (10th June, 2009) 232 students who successfully completed BIBF’s Professional Qualification Programs were honored at a reception and awards graduation ceremony held at the Crowne Plaza, Bahrain. The event was organized under the patronage of H.E Mr. Rasheed Almaraj, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB).

The certificates were presented to the graduates by Mr. Al Maraj and BIBF’s Director Mr. Garry Muriwai in the presence of Bank’s CEOs, Training Managers and General Managers from various organizations and institutions in Bahrain as well as representatives of participating organizations, program lecturers and graduates families.

The institute conferred degrees upon its graduating students in multiple programs and business areas. 40 graduates were recognized for the Advanced Banking Studies Diploma Program, 12 in the Advanced Insurance Studies Diploma Program, 5 in the Insurance Management Diploma Program, 39 in The Professional Insurance Certificate (PIC), 56 in the Advanced Diploma in Islamic Finance, 18 in the Advanced Diploma in Islamic Finance (Waqf Fund), and 62 in the University of Wales Validated Diploma Program in Banking and Finance.

Mr. Al Maraj extended his congratulations to the graduates on their achievements. He also acknowledged BIBF’s crucial role in creating a talent pool of professionals in the Banking & Finance Sector in Bahrain.

BIBF’s Director, Mr. Garry Muriwai, congratulated all graduates and urged them to take personal responsibility for their development and ensure that they are ready to face many changes over their working life in such a fast changing financial world.

“BIBF’s success is attributed to the support of its stakeholders and the direction of the Specific Council for Vocational Training (Banking Sector) added to the continuous support from the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain, We remain firmly committed to providing the highest standards of excellence in all aspects of training and educational process to remain a premier center of excellence,” said Mr. Muriwai

S.Ahmed Marhamat, represented the graduating class of 2009 and rendered a speech on behalf of all his graduate colleagues. Mr. Marhamat said “In the fast-changing market of today, it is vital for us to continuously cultivate our careers and uphold our knowledge to comprehend the developments affecting both international and local markets. The BIBF has provided us with the much needed platform to progress and develop. It is the platform where experiences and ideas, are exchanged between different individuals in the business field”.
18 outstanding graduates were also recognized and received special awards during the ceremony. These graduates represented various financial and insurance organizations from within Bahrain. BIBF extended its deep thanks and appreciation to the following organizations: National Bank Bahrain, Ahli United Bank, HSBC, Bank Bahrain & Kuwait, Gulf International Bank, Bahrain Saudi Bank, Investcorp, Arab Banking Corporation, Bahrain Kuwait Insurance, Bahrain National Holding, Arab Insurance Group, Al Ahlia Insurance, Trust International, Hannover ReTakaful, Arab Bank, Shamil Bank, Al Baraka Islamic Bank and the Bahrain Stock Exchange in recognition of their support of the graduates awards.
