The Centre for Leadership and Management transformed into a stand-alone centre following the 1988 move into the new BIBF premises in Juffair, Manama. Before this, various management courses had run, with the first held in 1983.

In essence, the Centre has grown in line with BIBF. As BIBF has diversified its offerings for the sector, the sector has realised the multiple opportunities for development of its staff. The Centre was also uniquely placed to take advantage of the shift during the 90s into soft skill development and leadership and management training.

Like the Centre for Accounting and IT, we have focused on global partnerships for local human capital development. The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, Chartered Institute of Marketing, Chartered Management Institute and edexcel are all working with the Centre to offer international qualifications.

We also have a close relationship with Tamkeen and the banks through which the Graduate Development Programme is run. Unique to BIBF, this allows school leavers the chance to learn about the multiple skill-sets required across the business sector, which in turn facilitates job opportunities for them.
