Bahrain Institute for Banking and Finance (BIBF) has signed a MOU with the Bahrain Association of Banks in the presence of BAB CEO Robert Ainey, BIBF Director Garry Muriwai and BIBF Head of Centre for Research Dr. Mohammad Omar Farooq.
The fundamental purpose of the MOU is cooperation between the two organisations providing joint seminars, conferences and research that are of interest to the banking and business community of Bahrain and the region. Specifically, BIBF will be the preferred research partner for BAB research projects and endeavors.
Gary Muriwai, BIBF Director said: “Signing this MOU with the Bahrain Bahrain Association of Banks is reflective of mutual strategy in servicing the needs of the financial sector. BAB have a long association with the Bahrain financial sector and I look forward to the development of new opportuntities in, and sharing of, research and educational professional development. ”
“One of the responsibilities of a banking association is to conduct research and prepare position papers on matters affecting the industry. We at BAB are delighted to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with BIBF to collaborate in the areas of research and training, whereby we will leverage the strengths of both organisations to better serve the financial sector”, said Robert Ainey, CEO of the Bahrain Association of Banks.”
Dr. Mohammad Omar Farooq, the Head of the Centre for Research stated: “Bahrain needs a strong foundation in research that is commensurate with its enviable position as a regional financial hub. BIBF Centre for Research is committed and poised to make substantive difference toward bridging the gap that exists in the area of research. The collaboration between BAB and BIBF is an important milestone towards building research capacity and fostering a research culture in Bahrain.”
