H.E. Rasheed Mohammed Al Maraj, Chairman of the Specific Council for Vocational Training (Banking Sector) yesterday honoured long serving BIBF employee Dr Mohammed Al Khozai. Dr. Al Khozai, who retired at the end of 2011 was feted at a luncheon attended by BIBF Management team members.
Dr. Al Khozai served 17 years at BIBF commencing in 1994 and after a variety of roles became the Head of Academic and Executive in the early 2000's. Instumental in facilitating the growth of the Centre, Dr. Al Khozai's legacy was the initiation of the highly successful University of Wales programme, and the University of DePaul Master programme. In his last two years at BIBF he oversaw the modernisation of the Gulf Executive Development Programme into its new format of the Leadership programme in conjunction with DePaul and the Institute of Banking (Saudi Arabia).
H.E. Rasheed Mohammed Al Maraj commented "Dr. Al Khozai was instrumental in the setting up of the DePaul, Darden and University of Wales partnerships. The benefits of this effort is significant with many graduates of these programmes now holding senior positions within the Government and Financial sectors. I would like to congratulate him on his achievements and contributions to BIBF. The experience he brought to BIBF facilitated strong programme foundations with his legacy the continuation of the programmes success."
Mr Garry Muriwai BIBF Director commented "Dr. Al Khozai has had an important role in positioning BIBF as a leading provider of academic programmes that allowed many people to broaden their experience by studying overseas and also bringing professors from the US to teach their courses in Bahrain. He leaves a legacy of excellence in educational management."
Dr. Mohammed Al Khozai thanked both H.E. Rasheed Mohammed Al Maraj and Mr Garry Muriwai for their kinds words. He reflected on the programme successes and made mention that his successes were driven by the support of all BIBF staff and thanked all past and present people he worked with for helping him realise his dream of a high profile series of academic qualifications that would psotively contribute to the human capital development of Bahrain.
