Bahrain Institute for Banking and Finance (BIBF) Director Mr Garry Muriwaiand CII Chief Executive Dr. Alexander Scott met on the sidelines of last weeks MEIF Insurance Conference to discuss the partnership collaboration that has been the bedrock of insurance qualifications in Bahrain for the last decade. In the presence of Mr. NaderAl MandeelDirector, Insurance Supervision Directorate,CBB;Mr. Steve JenkinsDirector, Financial Services & Insurance Markets, CII;Mr Mark Greenwood, Regional Director, Middle East & South East Asia, and Mr Husain Al Ajmi Head of Centre – Insurance BIBF, discussions highlighted the achivements of BIBF, CII and the CBB in the 6 years since the opening of the insurance academy at BIBF. Special mention was made in regards to the global first Arabic ACII qualification which has takenroot in the MENA region and the ongoing success of the CBB mandated CII Award qualifications in General Insurance and Financial Planning.
The BIBF-CII partnership is unique in offering those within the Insurance industry fully accredited qualification pathways ensuring the Insurance sector has a consistent flow of high achieving, highly qualified insurance staff. In summarising the positive contributions to the insurance sector both Dr Scott and MrMuriwai agreed that future collaboration and innovation is at the forefront of both BIBF and CII thinking which will include new qualification specialisations.
