Occupational Personality Questionnaire (OPQ) - LEVEL B
Description

This is an accredited course for using personality and motivational assessments and is recognised by the British Psychological Society (BPS), which is the representative body for psychology and psychologists in the UK. By becoming Level B qualified, delegates will gain a critical appreciation of personality theories and assessment methods. The course covers the use of personality questionnaires enabling delegates to become proficient in administering, interpreting and feeding back the results of the questionnaire studied. A core focus is on how to relate personality questionnairs scales to competencies.This course is delivered in association with SHL Group Ltd. which is a leading psychometric testing provider. The course will evolve around the Occupational Personality Questionnaire or the OPQ that is developed by SHL.

Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:
  • Explain the different models of personality assessments
  • Examine the different versions of the OPQ
  • Interpret the OPQ profile and feedback results to candidates or line managers in face to face as well as written format
  • Practice mapping the OPQ scales to competencies for selection and development purposes
  • Evaluate the psychometric properties of the OPQ in comparison to other personality questionnaires
  • Qualify to register as a user of the OPQ and become eligible for BPS Intermediate Level B qualification
  • Qualify to register as a user of the MQ

This course is targeted at HR specialists, training specialists, line managers and employees who are engaged in the assessment and development processes of individuals.

Where the applicant does not have the prerequisites stated above, BIBF may require applicants to take and pass a pre-course assessment in order to be admitted to the course. Candidates are responsible for ensuring that they meet the pre-requisites before registering in courses.

Course Structure

Course structure, outline and materials are provided by SHL Training Academy from the UK. This course will use interactive training methods of a combination of lecturing; group discussion/exercises; case studies; role-play activities; and video-based learning. In order to gain the qualification, participants will need to pass a written feedback assessment report, a practical feedback session, end of course assessment and the course follow-up assignment. The course requires attendees to complete an online pre-course assignment. Additional self-study hours of approximately 8 hours are also expected.
