The BIBF offers Business English programmes which test proficiency of communication in English for international business needs. The BIBF IDBE courses prepare successful students to sit the BIBF International Diploma in Business English examinations. These examine reading, writing and listening in business-related situations and cover four levels of competence: IDBE 1 (Entry), IDBE 2 (Pre-intermediate), IDBE 3 (Intermediate) and IDBE 4 (Upper-intermediate). IDBE 4 is a core component of the BIBF Banking Studies Diploma Programme.

• Sessions are held two days a week
• Days are determined based on demand
• Fees are BHD 335 for each level

The BIBF International Diploma in Business English (IDBE) examinations are practical exams that focus on applying the language in real-world business situations. There are four IDBE levels; at each level, reading, speaking, writing and listening skills are tested.

Level 1 is aimed at an elementary level of competence and is intended for participants who require a wider grammatical background. They would be involved in basic business communications and wish to develop those skills through improved sentence structure, format accuracy and content.

Level 2 is aimed at a pre-intermediate level of competence and is intended for people working in business or preparing for a career in business. IDBE 2 is also designed to develop the skills required by students progressing towards IDBE 3.

Level 3 is aimed at an intermediate level of competence and intended for people working in business or preparing for a career in business. IDBE 3 is designed to develop the skills required for students progressing to IDBE 4.

Level 4 is aimed at an upper-intermediate level of competence and, like IDBE 3, is intended for people who are either already in business-oriented work or preparing to pursue such a career.

At all four levels, the material and tasks are available to candidates who have experience in, or are interested in entering, a range of business fields, including marketing, production, financial services and general office work.

BIBF offers the International Diploma in Business English (IDBE) thrice a year: January - March, April - June and September - December.
