BIBF is now offering Arabic as a Foreign Language courses. No prior knowledge of the Arabic language is required. Participants will learn to converse confidently and effectively through a guided, step-by-step approach which will take them from beginner to advanced level. Classes will be conducted by an experienced lecturer with room size limited to allow meaningful interaction and learning.
The BIBF "Arabic for Expats" course goal is to get participants speaking the language quickly and with fluency. The focus will mainly be on speaking as this is the most essential skill in learning any language, but it will be integrated with other language skills as required. Participants will learn vocabulary and grammar as they occur in the proper context.
Level 1 is aimed at an elementary level of competence where basic knowledge of the language is sufficient to communicate in a very limited way, with the simplest oral and listening tasks and situations. Participants will build a foundation of fundamental Arabic vocabulary and essential language structure. They will begin to speak with confidence, mastering basic conversational skills, including greetings and introductions, simple questions and answers, shopping-related dialogue, and much more.
Level 2 is aimed at the intermediate level of competence required for daily interactions and navigating the surroundings. Participants will learn how to use important phrases, from greetings and introductions to simple questions and their answers. They will gain the confidence to talk about their environment such as in giving and getting directions, telling the time, dining out, shopping, and enjoying social interactions.
Level 3 is aimed at the advanced level of competence required to meet the participant's immediate communication and learning needs. Participants will be able to comprehend information on familiar topics in contextualised settings and produce sustained conversation with others on an expanding variety of general topics.
