The certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business (CFAB) is an exciting new qualification developed by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), the world-leading professional accountancy body at www.icaew.com. CFAB is ideal for individuals who either work or aim to work in business or accounting practice. It provides essential knowledge in the fundamentals of finance, accounting and business, and will take the individuals who follow it to a new level in their career development.
CFAB is made up of six modules:
Business and Finance
Accounting (Compulsory -not eligible for credit for prior learning)
Principles of Taxation
These are the same six modules of the ICAEW's premier accounting qualification, the ACA, for which CFAB can therefore be used as a stepping stone.
Has no requirement for formal academic entry qualifications, although BIBF has BEP 4 as a minimum English language entry requirement. This is to ensure that all those who enrol in the program can derive maximum benefit from it
Credit for prior learning is available for up to five of the six modules and is awarded only after careful mapping of the prior learning with the content of each module
The Certificate can be gained within one year
It provides fundamental knowledge in finance, accounting and business
Modules can be taken in any order, although BIBF will determine that order
The accounting module is compulsory ensuring that everyone has attained the same basic level of accounting competence on obtaining the qualification
BIBF will provide the appropriate tuition for a good chance of success in the ICAEW's e-assessments. ICAEW's assessment is computer-based
The certificate can provide an entry route into the ICAEW's premier accounting qualification, the ACA
Applications are accepted throughout the year, although there is a cut-off date which will be given on the website for each cohort of students.
There is a non-refundable registration fee of BHD 25. The programme fee is
BHD 1,800 if paid in full for all six modules at the time of registering for the first module; otherwise it is BHD 2,100 (BHD 350 per module). All fees must be paid before the commencement of the module/programme. Failure to pay fees by the due date will lead to the admission being cancelled and the place offered to another eligible applicant.
